    Brazil’s customs are almost same as the Europe’s. Brazilians sometimes are more uncommunicative but sometimes are very accommodating. In the beginning of meeting, people are always with the ceremony of shaking hands. However, when friends and relatives greet each other, they also used to hugs the pro-cheeks; And that is totally acceptable to complete strangers. The “social” etiquette of kissing cheek is to kiss on both cheeks for only once. However, in most social circles, blacks were out of fashion in that with each other, while with the customary handshake. But, due to difference of social status, who kissing whom when greeting is slightly different in different circumstances. Brazilians don’t care to reveal their emotions in public places, they are generous hospitality. Being a guest in their house, there will always wine in the glass and the coffee in the cup will never be empty.

    Indians are the aboriginal peoples in Brazil. Before the Portuguese discovered Brazil, there are about two or three million Indians living on the mainland of Brazil. At present, the Indians remains 350,000, distributing in 561 tribes, speaking more than 170 kinds indigenous language. A vast majority of Indians still live in the Amazon jungle, living in isolation. In the history, there were several emigration tides in Brazil, during the period of 1884 to 1962 there were 4.97 million Europe and Arab immigrants moved to Brazil. Since the late 19th century, immigrants in Asia and the Middle East have been increasing, currently in Brazil, and there are 1.3 million the immigrants and descendants of Japanese, and about 250,000 ethnic Chinese. The population and the ethnic composition of the Brazilian have the fundamental change because of the long-term marriages. About 55% of them are white, the blacks and the whites mixed-race are about 38%, and the blacks are about 6%.

    The unique immigrant process and the inter faith marriage between them result in Brazil’s unique culture. In the Brazil culture, there are the simplicity of the Indians, the warm of the Africans and the dignified manner of the Europeans. However, it is not just a simple replica of these cultures; it is an open culture which is a unique culture gradually formed and eclectic in the variety of cultures.

    The Brazilians are passionate, open-hearted and simple. When communicating with Brazilians, you will never feel indifference and being eliminated. You can talk with them freely and relaxingly. Even you can become intimate friends quickly feel the naughty of Brazilians liking the innocence of the children and freedom lax habits. Brazilians like to spend weekends with their friends and family. On casual days, you can see Brazilians eating and having fun sitting around the bar, the swimming pool or on the beach. Excitement runs in their blood and they like dancing and singing. On all kinds of concerts in Brazil, the audiences are never listening to the music seriously. As long as the music is played, the whole audience will follow the music rhythm, accompany the actors wildy singing and dancing. They enjoy themselves to their hearts’ content.

    Brazil is blessed with a vast territory and rich resources, creating a unique ethnic customs. Its romantic atmosphere with tropical colors has a sense of strong affinity. Once a foreign philosopher said, “The longer you live in Brazil, the more you will like the Brazilian” which indicated that its affinity is irresistible. You can have a try if you do not believe that, and you will find when you live the longer with Brazilian, you will more and more like the country and the people of this country.
