You are What You Wear

When it comes to sweeping generalization, no one likes it. But in fact, every one makes contribution to it. All Germans have no sense of humor, all instruction manuals are pointless, all beautiful women have little common sense, every single American is fat, all golfer players are boring and British people are conservative. Though I’m well aware that most generalizations are nonsense, we use it every now and then. It is of the same way we treat superstition. I know walking under a ladder brings bad luck is totally falderal, however, when I see a ladder standing in front of me, I will definitely walk around it. Who knows? What if it is true? And it is also the same with the saying “you are what you wear”.

Different clothes stand for different things and make different impressions. Young people like Ed Hardy, and celebrities like Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, David Beckham, Ewan McGregor and Usher are very often seen wearing Ed Hardy T-shirts. So, if some one wears Ed Hardy, people regard him as fashion and rebellious. No wander many parents don’t like it while their teenage sons and daughters are crazy for it.

And when people grow up and became more mature, they are interested in more elegant things. They are looking for jewelry such as Tiffany and Cartier, or maybe Links of London which is recently popular among young ladies. Men of this age are found of watches, cars, wines and other things of high quality to show their taste.

Women who wear UGG are considered as unselfconscious and they are usually easy to go on with. While those who wear Christian Louboutin high heels are regarded as fashionable and very often they are completists. They are brave enough to stand the pains and discomfort so that they look perfectly good.

Personally, I don’t like to be generalized. I don’t want a tag pinned on me with the clothes I wear or the things I use. Ironically, that is how we judge people. Uh-huh, this is a rebellious guy because he is wearing Ed Hardy. So, that is universally accepted that one is what he wears. To save you unnecessary troubles, you’d better wear what you are supposed to wear.
